The Story of Minglan, a 73-episode series, has aired on satellite channels in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and the streaming site YouTube since Dec 25. It may also become available on Chinese sites iQiyi, Youku and Tencent.

Adapted from a hit online novel, the series set in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) chronicles the legend of Sheng Minglan.

该剧改编自热门网络小说，故事发生在北宋年间（960-1127），讲述了盛明兰的传奇故事。

Minglan is the sixth child of the Sheng family. Her mother dies early in her life. Although she is intelligent and kind, she's not favored by her father. Through the years, Minglan hides her brilliance, hoping to one day avenge her mother. As she grows up, she meets many friends and foes. Finally, the unfavored daughter wins her true love and becomes the wife of a powerful politician.

明兰是盛家的六女儿，母亲在其很小的时候就去世了。虽然她聪明善良，但不受父亲喜爱。多年来，明兰隐忍守拙，希望有朝一日能为母报仇。随着明兰长大成人，她结识了很多朋友，也遭遇了不少仇敌陷害。最终，这位一度不受待见的女儿赢得了自己的真爱，成为一位权势官员的正妻。

Zhao stars as Sheng, while her newly married husband, actor Feng Shaofeng, plays the politician. The series marks their first work together after they tied the knot in October.

赵丽颖饰演盛明兰，而他的新婚丈夫冯绍峰则饰演这名官员。该剧也是自二人十月份结婚后播出的首部合作的影视剧。

During a recent event to promote the series, Feng said the has a lot of dialogue, with most narrated in the way that ancient Chinese would speak.

在近日的剧宣活动上，冯绍峰说剧本中有大段对话，大多都是古代的叙述方式。

But producer Hou Hongliang said the story could resonate with modern audiences as the conflicts in families and marriages are somewhat similar to those seen today.

但制片人侯鸿亮说，这个故事能够引起现代观众的共鸣，因为剧中的家庭和婚姻冲突和当今社会有共同之处。
